Hello Ronnel! Well, iTunes is throwing error 2002 because it can’t detect your jailbroken iPhone because either another program is using it or the device got disconnected while checking the Apple Server for the software update. The basic troubleshooting for this error is to close and re-run iTunes. But make sure you have iTunes 10.5 installed on your computer. If this doesn’t work, then you can follow the simple workaround posted below to bypass iTunes error 2002:

Step 1: Run Task Manager:

  • Windows XP Users: Press Control + Alt + Delete on the keyboard.
  • Windows Vista and Windows 7 Users: Press Control + Alt + Delete on the keyboard. Then click on the "Start Task Manager".

Step 2: On the Task Manager, click on the Processes (Second tab) and then select following Apple programs / services and close it by clicking the End Process button:

  • iPodService.exe
  • iTunesHelper.exe
  • AppleMobileDeviceService.exe

That’s it! In this way you will be able to sync and restore your iPhone to iTunes without getting any error.
