iPhone 4 Wallpaper All Black After iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak Using Sn0wbreeze

I have recently restored my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 as some of my default apps were crashing. Then yesterday I jailbroke my iPhone using the latest version of Sn0wbreeze and noticed that all of the default iOS wallpaper images went completely black when viewed in Settings app. How can I fix it? Thanks.

Hello Isiah, have you installed any jailbreak app or tweak form Cydia Store prior getting this error? If yes, then try to uninstall the last app that you installed from Cydia (under Manage option). Also, try to hard reset your iPhone and then boot it into tethered state using Sn0wbreeze’s iBooty tool.

If you are still facing the same error after performing the aforementioned tips, then this is probably a bug in the latest version of Sn0wbreeze which supports iOS 5.0.1 firmware. Anyway, just to make sure, did you used the Sn0wbreeze 2.8b11 (which can be downloaded using this link) to jailbreak your iPhone 4? And what specific jailbreak mode did you use? Simple, Expert, or Baseband Preservation Mode? Maybe one of these jailbreak modes has this bug. If that’s the case, then I would recommend you to restore and rejailbreak your iPhone on iOS 5.0.1 (or restore it to custom firmware) and use a different Sn0wbreeze’s Simple jailbreak mode. You can refer on this tutorial on how to use Sn0wbreeze. Also, do a clean restore i–e do not restore from backup as you might have corrupted data saved in backup file. Also, do not sync to iCloud yet.

Lastly, use the latest version of Redsn0w to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on your iPhone 4. You can follow this guide on how to jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1 using Redsn0w 0.9.9b8. Good luck!

To resolve black issue, install ifile on cydia.1- Open ifile, navigate to var/stash/wallpaper/iphone2- Long-touch any of the wallpapers for 2-3 seconds to select all3- Below the screen, click what looks like a notepad (at the extreme end on your right hand)4- Touch ‘cut’.5- Now paste what you have cut into another folder, or simply create a folder.(remember your destination- better still write it down)6- Now respring!7- Go back to ifile and navigate to the destination you have pasted the wallpapers.8- Long-touch for 2-3 seconds to ‘cut’.9- Now navigate to ‘1’ above and paste it.10- Respring again, and BINGO! No more black wallpapers.
