How to Fix Voicemail Issue on iPhone 3GS after Jailbreak and Unlock?

Hi, I have just bought a used iPhone 3GS from a friend. The device is jailbroken and unlocked and its currently running on iOS 4.3.3 with iPad 6.15.00 baseband installed. The iPhone 3GS is working smoothly over T-Mobile network. However, I’m not so sure if it’s a bug or not, I want be able to use my Visual Voicemail. For now, I have to call my voicemail in order to receive all my new voicemails. Visual Voicemail was available on my Android smartphone as well as on my wife’s iPhone 4 (non-jailbroken). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Joseph, as far as I know, there’s no bug on iOS jailbreak that is related to iPhone’s Visual Voicemail. And it seems like you haven’t activated your iPhone 3GS’s Visual Voicemail feature yet. Try to activate it, if you aren’t familiar with the steps, then you can follow the step by step guide posted below:

Step 1: From your Springboard Dock, just simply tap on the Phone app.
Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, just simply select on the Voicemail option.
Step 3: Now tap on the Set Up Now button in the middle of the screen.
Step 4: Then enter your preferred Visual Voicemail password and then press the Save button at the top right of the screen. Re-enter the same password to verify.
Step5: You can now configure your Custom Greeting message / Default messages.
Step 6: Record your Voicemail greeting and save it.
Step 7: You will get a list of voicemails on your iPhone 3GS once you have successfully save and configured your voicemail.
Step 8: To listen on your voicemail, just simply select a voicemail message and then press the blue play button to the left to listen to the message. And to display contact details, tap on the blue right arrow. Tap on the green Call Back button to make a call and the red button to delete messages.

That’s it. You have successfully enabled Visual Voicemail on your iPhone 4.
