How to Fix iTunes Error 1600 During iOS 4.3.3 Jailbreak Using Sn0wbreeze 2.7?

Hi, just jailbroke my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.3 using Sn0wbreeze 2.7, which was jailbroken previously on iOS 4.2.1 with Sn0wbreeze. Anyway, during the jailbreaking process specifically on the part where iTunes will restore the custom firmware, iTunes gives the “1600 error” and won’t let me restore the custom IPSW in order to complete the jailbreaking process. I’ve never been experience this before that’s why I’m not so sure how to fix it. Please help. I need to get my iPhone 4 jailbroken ASAP. Thanks.

Hello Randy, the iTunes 1600 Error occurs if you try to restore a custom IPSW file that was made using either Sn0wbreeze (for Windows) or PwnageTool (for Mac OS X) without pwning the iBoot in your iOS device. So every time you try to restore a custom IPSW using the usual DFU mode you will end up with Error 1600, and every time you restore a custom IPSW through recovery mode you will encounter Error 21. In order to configure this error, you will need to put your iOS device into Pwned DFU Mode using iREB. You can download iREB for Windows using this download link. Close your iTunes and connect your iOS device into your computer via USB cable. Then launch iREB and then choose your device form the list of iOS devices and put it into DFU mode by holding down the Home + Power button simultaneously for 10 seconds then release the Power button but keep holding the Home button until iREB detects your iOS device in DFU mode and it will automatically patch the iBoot with GeoHot’s Limera1n exploit.

For Mac OS X users, unfortunately, iREB is for Windows only. Anyway, you can follow this tutorial on how to put your iOS device into Pwned DFU mode using Redsn0w 0.9.7b6.
