Activate Jailbroken iPhone 4 on iOS 5 without Official SIM Card

Hi guys, I’ve already jailbroken and unlocked my iPhone 4 using Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 and Gevey SIM Pro respectively. Now, I want to activate it with iTunes but the problem is I don’t have the official carrier (AT&T) SIM card with me. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello Manny, have you restored your iPhone to custom iOS 5 which was created using Redsn0w 0.9.9b5? Anyway, activating your jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 4 using iTunes is easy as 1-2-3. You can use any other AT&T SIM card (from your friends or relatives) to activate your device. Just pop your AT&T SIM card in your iPhone, connect it to your computer and wait for iTunes to identify your iOS device. Once identified, just follow the on-screen instructions and you are good to go!

On the other hand, if you have no access to any AT&T SIM card, you will still be able to activate your iPhone using the ever-reliable SAM app. SAM app has been updated to support the new iOS app firmware. SAM app can be downloaded for free from Cydia Store via BigBoss repo. If you aren’t familiar with the steps to activate iPhone 4 using SAM, then you can check step by step guide posted here. Just simply follow the instructions very carefully till you get the WildcardActivated notification.

Note: All iPhone 4 users who are thinking to jailbreak and unlock their iPhone 4 on iOS 5 can refer to this tutorial on how to use Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 and Gevey SIM.
