Apple Seeds iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 to Developers, Download Now!

If you have been keeping up with the news regarding Apple, then you will know that there's an alarming number of complaints about the battery issues on iOS 5 installed devices. Which was admitted by the Cupertino that the issue indeed exists. A temporary fix has been introduced but Apple aims to resolve by releasing the first incremental update of iOS 5 final, dubbed iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1. But merely 2 days after iOS 5.0.1 beta was released, Apple has now seeded iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 to developers.

iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2
As mentioned before, iOS 5.0.1 beta 1 aims to address the battery problems that are present with the current public build of iOS 5. In addition to that, it also enables multitasking gestures for the original iPad, fixes the iPad 2 Smart Cover security flaw and among many other issues. iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 is software build 9A404 (previous beta was labeled 9A402). Unfortunately as of this writing, no change log or release notes were provided by Apple.
Download iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2
Registered iOS developers should be able to download the IPSW firmware file of iOS 5 beta 2 but there are reports that some developers are having issues downloading the file. If you find yourself having issues downloading the firmware, you can opt to over-the-air update if your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is currently running on iOS 5.0.1 beta 1. You can do this by navigating to > General > Software Update.

As usual, iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 is only available to registered developers and one can only legitimately download the firmware through Apple's iOS Dev Center. Anywhere else and it is considered to be illegal but based on past iOS betas, it's not enough to deter some users. Anyway, becoming an iOS developer is not exactly difficult as you are only required to pay for the $99 annual fee. Doing so will net you benefits like first access to firmware and software betas, access to documentations and tools for iOS development and many more.

The final version of iOS 5.0.1 is expected to be released publicly in a few weeks, probably before December.
