Mac OS X Lion USB Thumb Drive Now Available at Apple Store, Buy it Now!

Mac fans all over the world were treated to a whole new operating system experience as Apple released its major OS X upgrade, the Mac OS X Lion. The OS X Lion is packed to the brim with features and is generally well received by Mac users. But one aspect of the Lion that can be seen as a drawback is its distribution method. OS X Lion is only available through the Mac App Store and is previously not sold in any form of physical media. This could be a problem if you don't have a fast and stable enough internet connection. Fortunately Apple has now addressed this issue because the OS X Lion is now available in USB bootable thumb drives.

Shortly after the OS X Lion was made available, the Cupertino giant announced that they will be releasing and installation USB stick for Lion. This is to accommodate those who are unable to install or download the operating system through the online Mac App Store for whatever given reason. There have been reports that one can get a free thumb drive through Apple's support channel AppleCare, as long as you can convince the support representative with your problem.

From the product's official page:

OS X Lion is available on a USB thumb drive for installation without the need for a broadband Internet connection. Just plug the drive into your USB port and follow the instructions to install. OS X Lion is also available for a lower price as a digital download from the Mac App Store.

This is definitely a good alternate option for those who are unable to get their hands on OS X Lion through online means. Since installation discs are not available, users have no choice but to download the 4GB installation file which could be a problem if your internet connection isn't up to par. This Lion USB installation stick should be more than enough to offset such problem.

The one apparent drawback with the OS X Lion USB Thumb Drive though is obviously the price. The OS X Lion USB Thumb Drive retails for $69.00 which is more than double the price of the downloadable version which costs $29. The higher pricing can only be attributed to the fact it should cover both the cost of the USB thumb drive itself and the shipping. If you have purchased Lion digitally but still want to have a physical media for future installations, then you can use the Lion Disk Maker software which we brought to you earlier this month.

The Mac OS X Lion is the eight major and current release of Apple's Mac OS X. It is now available in the Mac App Store for only $29. It comes with a whole slew of features which includes the Launchpad, Mission Control, Full-screen apps, Airdrop and many more.

Buy the OS X Lion USB Thumb Drive from the Apple Store for $69.00.
