Warning: Jailbreakers Should Stay Away from iOS 4.3.5 Update, Kills Untethered Jailbreaks

The iOS development team seems to be quite on fire lately, releasing firmware after firmware these past few weeks. As you all probably know, Apple has already released another firmware update for the iOS 4 dubbed iOS 4.3.5. This is was only about 10 days after iOS 4.3.4 was rolled out which is mainly a security update to patch a critical security flaw within Mobile Safari. iOS 4.3.4 also officially killed untethered jailbreaks. So with 4.3.5, jailbreakers are strongly advised to stay away from it and not update if they don't want to lose their untethered jailbreaks.

Jailbreakers please stay away from today’s iOS 4.3.5 update!

Although if you have been jailbreaking your device for some time now, you do not have to be warned from upgrading to each of Apple's firmware updates. Upgrading to the latest firmware will almost certainly kill your jailbreak. And if you are under a software unlock, you will lose that too if you upgrade. So as a standard procedure, if you do not want to lose your jailbreak, do not ever upgrade unless you read any news or information that the firmware can be jailbroken.

For those who are under stock iPhone, iPad or iPod touch firmware, then by all means you need to upgrade whenever a new firmware update is available.

As of now, jailbreaks that are above iOS 4.3.3 are all tethered and can be done using Redsn0w. So if you do not mind tethered jailbreaks, then you can go ahead and upgrade to iOS 4.3.5. But if you want the latest untethered jailbreak, then you will have to settle with iOS 4.3.3 and below, beyond that and your untethered jailbreak gets killed.

We always warn our readers with regards to the subject of whether a particular firmware is jailbreak safe or not in our IPSW downloads and jailbreak tutorials. But we feel that we should point this out in another post for the benefit of all. Happy jailbreaking!!!
