Universal Androot: 1-Click Root for Nexus One, HTC Hero, HTC Magic, Motorola Milestone, Motorola Droid & Dell Streak

Universal Androot is a new solution to Android rooting which allows you to root your Android phone with just one click. All you need is to install Universal Androot app and it will do the rest for you. Steps to Root Your Android Phone with Universal Androot App:

If you phone lies in the supported devices list, then follow the procedure below to root your phone with Universal Androot app.

  1. Go to Settings->Applications and check Unknown sources option.

  3. Open the following URL in your stock Android browser OR use the QR code below to download Universal Androot app to your phone.

  5. Once downloaded, click on the Install button to install the Universal Androot app.

  7. Once installed, click on the Root :) button to root your Android device.

  9. Thats it, now your Android phone has a root user access. Open Market app and install Terminal Emulator to enjoy full command over rooted OS directories and files.

The advantage of rooting through Universal Androot app is that it is totally reversible and there is no chance of bricking your device. You can add root widget on your home screen through which you can root and unroot your device with just one click as shown in the screenshot below.

    I had no problems at all installing Universal Androot on my Motorola Milestone with Android 2.2.1. So your warning about the update does not seem to apply to all phones?

      You can give it a try because i am not sure. Also if it failed, you will get rooting failed error message. It wont do any harm to your device in anyway after all.
