iPhone 3G Shipments Stopped by Apple?

According to BoyGeniusReport (BGR), Apple has reportedly ceased the shipment of iPhone 3G 8GB model to all AT&T stores, so the said version will no longer be available at any AT&T store for sale. Almost two months ago, Apple announced the deal of buying iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS without AT&T contract inorder to clear their stock before WWDC 2010. Now with this news, it seems that Apple has finally managed to sale all iPhone 3G 8 GB models.

There isn't any official statement from Apple regarding this, it will probably be announced at upcoming mega-event.

Statement from BGR:

A move that is sure to surprise few, we suppose. We've heard that Apple has stopped shipping iPhone 3G 8GB units to AT&T stores and orders are not being placed for the device. Could this mean we might see the iPhone 3GS drop to $99 and make way for a new model? Or maybe the 3GS would disappear altogether? We're not sure, but we're about to find out…
