How to Install Backgrounder App to Enable Multitasking on iPhone & iPod Touch?

Jailbreaking your iDevice allows you to install jailbroken / cracked apps on it. This is not the only advantage of jailbreak, you can also run multiple apps simultaneously in background after jailbreaking your iDevice. Inorder to install jailbroken apps, you need AppSync which patches the MobileInstallation file on your iDevice so that you may run cracked / unofficial apps. However inorder to run these apps in parallel, you need to install apps like Multifl0w or Backgrounder.

We have already shared our detailed review on Multifl0w app, below is a step-by-step guide to install Backgrounder on iPhone / iPod Touch.

How to Install Backgrounder App on iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch

  1. First jailbreak your iDevice with Spirit tool. Guide for iPad users | Guide for iPhone / iPod Touch users
  2. After jailbreaking your device, launch Cydia on it.

  4. Click on "Sections" at the bottom.
  5. Scroll down and find "System" directory.
  6. Cydia Sections

  7. Open "System" directory and scroll to find "Backgrounder" app.
  8. Cydia Section System

  9. Click "Install" button at the top-right corner to install the "Backgrounder" app.
  10. Reboot your device. Thats it!
  11. Open Backgrounder app once it's installed.
  12. Backgrounder App

backgrounder doesn’t work anymore on iOS 6? Keeps making you enter safe mode is there a fix to this or is it screwed until the update to the app?

    How do you get bigboss?

Patrick Gumban8 years, 8 months ago

Bigboss repo is actually pre-built in your device after you have jailbroken your device and installed Cydia, you should have it already if you’re jailbroken.

Make sure you have BigBoss repository already added in your Cydia.
