Will JailbreakMe 3.0 Work on iPhone 3GS iOS 4.2.1?
Hello, the news about JailbreakMe excites me again. I have an iPhone 3GS. I Jailbroke it last year using JailbreakMe 2.0, however, I’ve accidentally restored it to iOS 4.2.1 and I lose my jailbreak. I tried to re-jailbreak using Redsn0w but putting the iPhone into DFU mode as well as other procedures scares me to jailbreak my iPhone again. Now, my question is, will I be able to jailbreak my iPhone 3GS using JailbreakMe? And what are the new features of JailbreakMe 3.0? Please help. I am completely novice. Thanks.

Hello Marcus, yes, you will be able to jailbreak your iPhone
http://jaxov.com/wiki/wp-admin/post.php?post=278&action=edit&message=1#post_name3GS using the latest version of JailbreakMe tool. And just the like the previous version of the jailbreak tool, Comex’s JailbreakMe 3.0 also features the user-friendly interface which makes jailbreaking iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch a lot easier in comparison with other jailbreak tools such as the Sn0wbreeze
, etc… To jailbreak your iPhone, all you have to do is connect your iPhone 3GS to iTunes via USB cable and then make a backup. Now, restore it to iOS 4.3.3
firmware (since JailbreakMe 3.0 does not support iOS 4.2.1) but be careful as Apple may release iOS 4.3.4 software update to patch this jailbreak in the next few days. Once you have backed up your device, launch Mobile Safari from the Springboard of your iPhone 3GS and then go to www.jailbreakme.com
. And then click on “FREE” button under the Cydia icon and then hit on the “INSTALL” button and that’s it. You should now see the Cydia brown icon installing on your home screen. Your iPhone 3GS is completely jailbroken and you can now access Cydia App Store.
The ultimate highlight of the JailbreakMe 3.0 is the ability to jailbreak iPad 2 :).
