Which Jailbreak Tool Should I Use to Jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 or other iPhone Firmware?

Hi, I am using a unjailbroken iPhone 3GS running on iOS 4.3.3 firmware. Now what I want to do is upgrade my jailbreak to the latest version of iPhone firmware and then jailbreak it. Is there anything I would need to do to prepare my iPhone for software update and jailbreak? Can I unlock my iPhone after jailbreaking it? I have used JailbreakMe to jailbreak this device on iOS 4.0. Can I use the new version of JailbreakMe to jailbreak the new firmware?  Thanks.

Hello Joey, currently iOS 4.3.4 is the latest version of iPhone firmware available. However, this version of firmware is not the most stable and best firmware for your device because there’s nothing new on this version of firmware. If you aren’t ware, Apple launches the iOS 4.3.4 to patch the jailbreak exploit used by Comex for his JailbreakMe 3.0. Additionally, iOS 4.3.4 permanently killed Stefan Esser’s iOS 4.3.x untethered jailbreak. Meaning, if you want to jailbreak your iPhone using JailbreakMe 3.0 as well as keep your untethered jailbreak, then you should STAY AWAY from stock iOS 4.3.4 firmware. And yes, you will be able to jailbreak your iPhone 4 using JailbreakMe 3.0 as long as your device is running on iOS 4.3.3.

So before you jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 4.3.3, I would recommend you to save the SHSH Blobs of your device so that you will be able to downgrade it if you have accidentally restored the latest version of iPhone firmware. To do that, you can check this tutorial on how to grab the SHSH blobs of iOS 4.3.3 using iFaith even if Apple has stopped signing it. After saving your iOS 4.3.3 SHSH Blobs, you can refer on this guide on how to jailbreak iPhone 4 using JailbreakMe 3.0.
