Update iPhone 3GS From iOS 4.3.3 to iOS 4.3.5 to Fix App Crashing Issue

Hi Jaxov, I am using an iPhone 3GS which as recently jailbroken on iOS 4.3.3 using Redsn0w. I have been getting numerous app crashes, particularly with Facebook, Safari, BiteSMS, and other pirated apps that I have downloaded from Installous. Anyway, is there a way to upgrade my iPhone to iOS 4.3.5 and get untethered jailbreak? If so, can you give me the tutorial or a link on how to do it? Thanks.

Hello Andrew, if I were you, I will not update my iPhone to any other iPhone firmware due to the fact that your iPhone is already running on the most stable firmware. Additionally, there’s no untethered jailbreak available for iOS 4.3.4 and iOS 4.3.5. Anyway, you can check Cydia for updates in order to fix some of the apps installed on your iPhone. To do that, just simply launch Cydia on the Springboard of your device and go to Changes and hit the Refresh tab. The app will automatically update some of the tweaks, apps, and repositories installed on your device. Regarding your installed cracked apps, you can check Hackulous repo for update, or just uninstall them and download a new one. If you are getting iTunes apps error as well, then you can download an app from BigBoss repo called Crash Reporter in order to determine the root cause of both your Cydia and App Store apps.

Lastly, if the above tips don’t work, you can restore your iPhone back to iOS 4.3.3. Of course, you will need to have saved iOS 4.3.3 SHSH blobs in order to do that. You can use TinyUmbrella to check if you have SHSH blobs stored on Cydia server. The step by step guide on how to use TinyUmbrella can be found here. If for some reasons you don’t have saved SHSH blobs, you don’t have to worry because you can use iFaith SHSH blobs Dumper to backup your SHSH blobs and create a signed IPSW which can be restored on your device. Just follow this guide on how to save SHSH blobs using iFaith and this tutorial on how to create signed IPSW.
