Hey guys, do you have any idea if Gevey SIM card will work on my iPhone 4 here in Papua New Guinea? I have decided to unlock this phone after paying an exorbitant amount to AT&T for international roaming calls. Anyway, can I use Ultrasn0w to unlock my iPhone if Gevey SIM does not support PNG? By the way, this iPhone 4 is running on iOS 4.3.3 firmware with 04.10.01. Thanks.

Hello Maureen, Gevey SIM works in all countries supporting calls to 112 Emergency Number. However, according to this website
, PNG does not support the International 112 Emergency Number. Anyway, just to make sure, you can try it yourself if you will be able to call 112 directly on your iPhone then hang up after 2 seconds. If you have successfully dialed 112 Emergency Number, then you can check this blog post
on how to unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.3
using Gevey SIM Pro. But before you unlock, I would recommend you to jailbreak
your iPhone 4 first to make sure that all features of the iOS will work on the new unlocked device. To jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 4.3.3, you can use JailbreakMe
3.0 (easiest and fastest method to jailbreak an iOS device) or Redsn0w
0.9.6rc16 (required using either Mac OS X or Windows-based machine). The step by step guide on how jailbreak iPhone using JailbreakMe 3.0 can be found here
, while the steps on how to use Redsn0w is posted on this link
. Once completely jailbroken, you can activate your iPhone 4 using SAM
Regarding Ultrasn0w, the latest version of Ultrasn0w carrier unlocking tool (version 1.2.3) will not be able to unlock your iPhone due to the fact that it is already running on unlockable baseband.
