How to Unlock iPhone Baseband 04.11.08 Using Gevey SIM?
Hello people! Ok, here’s my problem. I have a new iPhone 4 which was jailbroken on iOS 4.3.5 and unlocked with Gevey SIM. I ran a software update yesterday and restored my iPhone to iOS 5. As a result, I am unable to use my Gevey SIM to unlock my iPhone. Just recently, I found out that I should have restored my iPhone to custom iOS 5 and then should have proceeded to unlock. Is there any fix for this? How about downgrading? Thanks a lot!

Hello Jeffrey! Sad to say, but there’s no fix for this issue at the moment. Meaning, you will not be able to unlock your iPhone on iOS 5 or any firmware using your Gevey SIM. Downgrading
your iPhone back to its previous firmware will not work as well as the baseband of the iPhone is non-downgradable. Once you have updated the baseband of the iPhone, there’s no way you will be able to downgrade it. The only solution to unlock your iPhone 4
on iOS 5, which is not available at the moment, is use a new and updated version of Gevey SIM that has capability to unlock iPhone on iOS 5 firmware. Hopefully folks over at Applenberry have figured out how to unlock iPhone on iOS 5 using their special locking tool.
Anyway, for your kind information, you can check this blog post to know more about creating custom iOS 5 firmware using Redsn0w and unlocking iPhone on iOS with Gevey SIM. Or this guide on how to create custom iOS 5 using Sn0wbreeze 2.8b8.
