Can I Unlock iPhone 3GS Using Gevey SIM or Ultrans0w?
Hey guys, I have an iPhone 3GS and I want to unlock it. What’s the best option available for me? My officemate used Gevey SIM to unlock his iPhone, but some of my colleagues suggesting Ultrasn0w. Anyway, my iPhone 3GS is running on 5.14.02 baseband. Can somebody suggest the best option for me? If so, can you guys provide a link / tutorial on how to use Gevey SIM Pro or Ultrasn0w. Thanks!

Hello Toney, at the moment, the best and reliable option available for you is to unlock
your iPhone 3GS using Ultrasn0w software-based unlocking tool. You will not be able to unlock your iPhone 3GS using Gevey SIM primarily because of the fact that Gevey SIM does not support iPhone 3GS (iPhone 3GS does not use micro SIM). To unlock your iPhone 3GS, you will need to jailbreak it first. You can use Redsn0w
0.9.6rc16 to jailbreak iPhone 3GS and update its baseband to iPad’s 6.15.00 baseband. You can download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 from this link
and the step by step guide on how to update iPhone 3GS 5.14.02 baseband to iPad’s 06.15.00 can be found on this blog post

Once completely jailbroken with 6.15.00 baseband and installed Cydia, you can now download and install Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 through Cydia. You can refer on this tutorial on how to unlock iPhone 4/3GS using Ultrasn0w 1.2.3. Alternatively, you can also download and install Ultrsn0w manually using Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 DEB file.
