Safari Web Browser Crashed on Jailbroken iPhone 3GS Running iOS 5

Hello Jaxov team, I have updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5 firmware last week. Today, I jailbroke the phone on my computer using Redsn0w 0.9.9b7. It showed that everything was completed since I had Cydia and no icons were missing from homescreen. After jailbreaking, I launched Safari browser but it crashed instantly. It seems like the app is unable to connect to Internet. But other iOS apps are working smoothly, including Cydia and other jailbreak apps that I have downloaded. Should I restore to iOS 5.0.1? Please help. Thanks.

Hello Morgan! Nope, please STAY AWAY from iOS 5.0.1 if you want to get an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak (which I am pretty sure that you are). Anyway, it seems like you will be needing to boot your iPhone into tethered mode or try to hard reset it in order to ensure that the jailbreak as well as other features of the iOS will work on the new jailbroken firmware. To hard reset your iPhone, all you have to do is press the Home button and the Power button at the same time until the iPhone shuts itself off and begins to restart. Then release both buttons when you see the silver Apple logo on your screen. Then after booting, just simply connect your iPhone to your PC via USB cable and then launch Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 (yes, download the latest version of Redsn0w from here). Select Extras and then select the Just boot option. Wait for a minute or two till the application boots your iPhone into tethered jailbreak state. Then check Safari browser after booting your iPhone into tethered jailbreak state.

If you still get the same error after tethered booting, I would recommend you to download and install an app in Cydia Store called Crashed Reporter, which can be download via BigBoss repo. After installing, just simply run the app to analyze the root cause of the problem. That’s it! Good luck!
