Redsn0w 0.9.6RC15 Won’t Run on Windows 7

Hi guys, I am trying to jailbreak my iPhone for the first time. I have already restored my iPhone from iOS 4.3 to iOS 4.3.3 and planning to jailbreak it uing Redsn0w for Windows. I have downloaded Redsn0w 0.9.6RC15 but the application is not working on my computer. Please help. By the way, I am on Windows 7 64-bit. Thanks.

Hello Ronald, you would have probably downloaded a corrupted Redsn0w jailbreak tool, or running the application from inside the .ZIP file. Anyway, this can be fixed by downloading a new Redsn0w.exe. But this time, I would recommend you to download and use Redsn0w 0.9.6RC19, which is available for both Windows and Mac OS X users. You can download Redsn0w 0.9.6RC19 for Windows using this download link (Mac OS X users can get Redsn0w 0.9.6RC19 from here). Once downloaded, make sure that you have extracted the .ZIP file before running the application. If the new Redsn0w still won’t run, then you should run Redsn0w in different compatibility mode. To do that, just simply right-click on the downloaded and extracted redsn0w.exe on your desktop, then select Properties and go to the Compatibility tab. Under the Compatibility mode option, click Run this program in compatibility mode for check box and select Windows XP, with the highest Service Pack listed (Service Pack 3). Then at the bottom of the dialogue click the box under Privilege Level to Run this program as an administrator and then click OK. That’s it, you should now be able to run Redsn0w 0.9.6RC19 on your Windows 7 machine. Anyway, you can follow this tutorial if you aren’t familiar with the steps on how to jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.5 using Redsn0w.

On the other hand, since you are on iOS 4.3.3, you can use web-based jailbreak tool JailbreakMe 3.0 to jailbreak your iPhone without connecting it to your PC.
