Jailbroken iPhone 3GS Getting 1015 Error and Stuck in Recovery Mode

Hi guys, I accidentally restored my factory unlocked iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.3.5. Fortunately, I have saved iOS 4.3.3 SHSH blobs from Cydia. So I downgraded it using TinyUmbrella, but iTunes gives error 1015 to me and my device gives going back to recovery mode. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello Cory, the easiest and most reliable fix available to resolve your issue on your device is by using the standalone TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) software. The steps on how to use TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) can be found below:

Step 1: First, you will need to download TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) for Windows using this link or from here if you are using a Mac.

Step 2: Download Zlib1.dll from here and put it in the same location where fixrecovery43.exe is located.

Step 3: Then connect your iPhone 4 into the computer via USB cable and power OFF your device.

Step 4: Launch iTunes as well as the downloaded TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) and put your iPhone into DFU mode.

  • Press and hold the Power and Home button for 10 seconds.
  • Then release Power button after 10 seconds but continue holding the Home button for another 10 seconds.

Step 5: That’s it! TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) will start fixing the error on your device.

After you have successfully fixed and restored iOS 4.3.3 firmware on your device, you can now jailbreak iPhone 4 using JailbreakMe 3.0 or Redsn0w 0.9.6RC16. The step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iPhone using JailbreakMe can be found here, while the tutorial on how to use Redsn0w is posted on this link.
