How to Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 7 Untethered on iPhone 3GS?

Hello, I have downloaded the iOS 5 beta 7 for my iPhone 3GS from some website and I want to restore and jailbreak it on my device. Which jailbreak tool should I need in order to achieve it? I am currently using my iPhone on iOS 4.3.5. Thanks.

Hello Jonas, before you jailbreak your beloved iOS device, you should be noted that the iOS 5 firmware is still in beta version, therefore it is expected that the build you downloaded is quite buggy. Additionally, the Cupertino, California-based Apple is still beta testing iOS 5 and the iOS 5 beta 7 is available only for registered iOS developers who are fully aware of what they are doing. Lastly, there’s no untethered jailbreak available for iOS 5 firmware at the moment - not unless if you have iPhone 3GS with old bootrom. This is primarily because of the fact that this firmware permanently patched the exploit used by the iPhone Dev-Team to get untethered jailbreak on iOS devices running on iOS 4.3.1 up to iOS 4.3.3.

Anyway, if you want to get your hands dirty and want to proceed to jailbreak, then first I would recommend you to save the SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella or iFaith SHSH Blobs Dumper. These blobs will allow you to downgrade your iPhone back to its previous firmware once Apple has stop signing iOS 4.3.5. You will also need to download the seventh beta version of iTunes 10.5 and install it on your Mac OS X or Windows-based machine. You can check this blog post to download and know more about iTunes 10.5 beta 7. You will also need to download Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 jailbreak tool which can be found here if you are using Windows or using this link if you are on Mac. Once you have all the required tool and softwares, you can now start jailbreaking your iPhone on iOS 5 beta 7 using Redsn0w 0.9.8b7. The tutorial on how to use Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 can be found on this blog post.

Use Redsn0w to Jailbreak iOS 5
