Hi, I just got the message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." after an unexpected update. I've run TinyUmbrella's EXIT RECOVERY to no avail. It keeps looping back into restore mode a second after the USB/iTunes window disappears and the Apple logo finally appears. On the left side of the TinyUmberellas window, my iPhone appears as a ? number. After running EXIT RECOVERY, a second number appears and another one for each time I run it. Can anyone help? I cant get it out of DFU mode. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Hi Denis! An iDevice stuck in DFU mode is among the most annoying things a user can encounter. To get out of DFU mode, please download the latest version of Redsn0w, and after launching it, navigate to Extras. As a next step manually select your IPSW file and then hit Recovery Fix.
Now, as part of the process, you will need to turn off the iDevice by pressing the power button for several seconds until you see the screen go completely black. And now we proceed with the final steps to get the iPhone out of DFU mode by putting it into DFU mode: Click Next in Redsn0w and follow the instructions.
If you already know how to put your device into DFU mode, you can skip this step; if not, follow the on-screen instructions: Press the Power button for three seconds, then without releasing the Power button, press the Home button for 10 seconds. As a third step, you will need to release the Power button without releasing theHome button and keep holding it for another 15 seconds until the installation begins. In seconds, the iPhone will restart and boot normally. That's it.
