Hello Jaxov! I have previously downloaded the iOS 6.1.2 IPSW to my PC and with that, I was able to successfully to successfully upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 6.1.2 and jailbreak it using the Evasi0n tool. However, that was before the release of iOS 6.1.3. From what I gathered, jailbreaking on iOS 6.1.3 is not possible. And now, I have to upgrade another iPhone 4 from a friend to iOS6.1.2.
So there are my questions: Can I still use the iOS 6.1.2 IPSW to upgrade my friend's iPhone 4 to iOS 6.1.2? If the answer is yes, can I still still use the process that I did before which is to open iTunes and then SHIFT+Restore from file?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Cheers Glenn! Fortunately for you, there is a way for you to update your iPhone 4 to iOS 6.1.2, which can't be said for devices such as the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. Do you have the appropriate iOS 6.1.2 blobs saved on your computer? If not, I suggest that you use iFaith or Redsn0w to get your SHSH blobs.
Then this is what I would suggest - use iFaith or Redsn0w to stitch your blobs with the 6.1.2 IPSW. This will enable you to create a custom iOS 6.1.2 file with the necessary blobs which won't be blocked by iTunes. Now place your iPhone 4 in Pwned DFU mode, and then you can now use the iTunes+Restore method. After restoring, setup your iPhone as new and jailbreak it using the most stable release of the Evasi0n tool. Then make sure that you restore from your latest backup.
In case you have a locked SIM, you will need to utilize Sn0wbreeze in iFaith mode to create the iOS 6.1.2 custom firmware. This will both hacktivate and jailbreak your iPhone 4 in iOS 6.1.2. Following this process should give you an untethered jailbreak. Just in case you are stuck on black screen, launch redsn0w and use the "Just Boot" function!
Of course, all of these are only possible if you have the iOS 6.1.2 SHSH blobs. Otherwise, you are stuck with iOS 6.1.3 and the only jailbreak option you have is a tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w.
