iPhone Got Stuck at Apple Logo After Jailbreaking iOS 4.3.5 with Redsn0w

Hello guys, I have a huge problem, and i think my iPhone 4 is dead :( I asked my friend to jailbreak my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.5 using Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 since I am totally noob about tech related stuffs. The jailbreak was successful in fact I already downloaded some Cydia apps. Anyway, to cut the long story short, my device stopped working and got stuck in the Apple logo boot up screen after rebooting it. My friend who jailbroke my iPhone 4 is out of the country and I have no contact with him. Please, help me guys! Thanks.

Hello Marinel, your iPhone is doing fine and it is not dead yet. You just have to boot it in tethered jailbreak state using Redsn0w. Anyway, did your friend explain the difference between tethered and untethered jailbreak on iOS devices? Well, basically, tethered jailbreak means you cannot boot (turn on the iPhone) without connecting it to a computer. Untethered jailbreak means the iPhone or other iOS device is independent of computer, and it can boot all by itself without the help of the computer.

To get an untethered jailbreak you will need to jailbreak your iOS device using a jailbreak tool that offers untethered jailbreak. In your case, you should wait for the iPhone Dev Team to release a new version of Redsn0w. In the meantime, you can follow the step by step guide posted below to boot your iPhone into iOS 4.3.5 tethered jailbreak state:

Step 1: Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 (Windows | Mac OS X).

Step 2: Connect your iPhone (iPod Touch or iPad) to your computer.

Step 3: Launch the downloaded Redsn0w jailbreak tool.

Step 4: Select the Just boot tethered right now option (shown in the screenshot below).

Step 5: That’s it! Just follow the on-screen instructions to put your iPhone in DFU mode and ultimately, Redsn0w will boot it into tethered jailbroken state after going through number of jailbreak steps!
