iPhone 3GS Got Stuck in Recovery Mode After Installing Ultrasn0w 1.2.4

As mentioned above, my iPhone is currently stuck in recovery mode after jailbreaking and unlocking it on iOS 5 using Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 and Ultrasn0w 1.2.4 respectively. Prior this, I restored my iPhone to the custom iOS 5 IPSW. I have tried to fix it via Redsn0w’s "Recovery Fix" option but no luck. This is really frustrating as I really need to get my iPhone working before this upcoming holiday. Is there anybody out there who can help me? Thanks!

Hello Tyreke, have you tried to boot your iPhone into tethered mode after installing Ultrasn0w 1.2.4? If not, then just simply tether (connect) your iPhone to your Mac or PC, run Redsn0w, select Extras, and then click on Just boot option. If this doesn’t work, then you can use the standalone version of TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery). If you aren’t familiar with the steps you can follow the step-by-step guide posted below on how to use TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery):

Step 1: First, download TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) for Windows (Direct Link) or Mac OS X (Direct Link), as well as the zlib1.dll file from here (Save both fixrecovery43.exe and the downloaded zlib1.dll in one folder)

Step 2: Connect your iOS device into your computer and then launch the downloaded fixrecovery43.exe.

Step 3: Now you have to put your iPhone in DFU mode.

  • Press and hold the Power and Home button for 10 seconds.
  • Then release Power button after 10 seconds but continue holding the Home button for another 10 seconds.

Step 5: That’s it! Just wait for a few minutes and you will now be able to use your iPhone.

If for some reasons TinyUmbrella (Fix Recovery) doesn’t work, then your last resort should be restoring your iPhone to custom iOS 5 firmware via Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 and then installing Ultrasn0w 1.2.4. Good luck!
