So today I bought my first iPhone 4 and its currently running on iOS 4.2.1 and I m planning to jailbreak it on iOS 4.3.3. But a friend advised that I should save my SHSH Blobs before restoring it to the latest firmware and jailbroke it. So I downloaded TinyUmbrella and try to save iOS 4.2.1 SHSH Blobs. But, TinyUmbrella doesn’t work on my 4.2.1 firmware. After searching the web, I have found out that this is primarily because Apple stops signing iOS 4.2.1 firmware. Can I still jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.3? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank in advance!

Step 1: To save iOS 4.2.1 SHSH Blobs, first you will need to download iFaith v1.1 for your Windows machine (iH8sn0w is still working on the Mac OS X version of iFaith at the moment) and run the tool.
Step 2: Then click “OK” after reading the disclaimer.
Step 3: Now, click on the “Dump SHSH” button. Read all the info and click “Proceed”.
Step 4: Click on ‘Let’s Go’ to start the dumping process.
Step 5: iFaith v1.1 will ask you if you are dumping an Apple TV 2, indicate it when iFaith asks you.
Step 6: iFaith will prompt you to put you iPhone 4 into DFU mode. Just simply follow the on-screen instructions to place your device in DFU Mode.
- Press Power and home for 10 Seconds
- Release the power button, but keep holding the Home
Step 7: Once in DFU mode, iFaith will start the SHSH Blobs dumping process of your current firmware. It will go through each step which could take a few minutes.
Step 8: When completed, iFaith will ask you where to locally save the SHSH.
That’s it! You have successfully save iOS 4.2.1 SHSH Blobs. You can now restore your iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.3 through iTunes and then jailbreak it using Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 (stable) or JailbreakMe 3.0 (quite buggy).
