How to Restore iOS 4.3 on Jailbroken iPhone 3G?

Hello Jaxov, I am using my old iPhone 3G for almost 2 years now, and I want to give it a “facelift”. Will be able to restore it to the latest version of iPhone firmware in order to add more features and appurtenance into the device? By the way, my iPhone 3G is jailbroken on iOS 4.2.1 and it is factory unlocked. Thanks in advance.

Hello Max, sad to say but you won’t be able to update the operating system of your iPhone 3G to iOS 4.3.3 as this version of firmware is not supported by your device. However, since you are using a jailbroken iPhone 3G, the good news is that, you will be able to get the complete look and feel of iOS 4.3 on your iPhone 3G, as well as other old iOS devices such as the iPhone 2G, iPod  Touch 2G, and iPod Touch 1G using a mod called WhiteD00r. If you want to install Whited00r on your device, then you can follow the step by step guide posted below:

Step 1: Backup your data so that you can restore it to previous settings if anything goes wrong.
Step 2: Download WhiteD00r custom firmware for your iPhone 3G.
Step 3: Now launch iTunes and connect your iPhone 3G. Then select your device from the list of devices and click on RESTORE while holding ALT (Mac OS X) or SHIFT (Windows) at the same time. New file browsers will popup and then just simply select the downloaded WhiteD00r custom IPSW file and restore it.
Step 4: iTunes will install the custom IPSW file on your device; this could take at least 12 to 15 minutes.

That’s t! You can refer on this site if you encounter some errors during the entire process. How to Install WhiteD00r to Old iPhone
