How to Jailbreak Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.8?
Good day Jaxov, just like others, I need help here. I’m using a Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 which was jailbroken on iOS 4.2.6 using the old Greenpois0n. Now, I want to update its firmware to iOS version 4.2.8 but I am bit confused on how to do it. Do I have to update to iOS 4.2.7 and then to iOS 4.2.8 and then jailbreak? Can I re-jailbreak using Greenpois0n?

Hi Chad, you should not be confused. We are here to help you. Well, the entire jailbreaking process in both GSM iPhone 4 and CDMA iPhone 4 is quite similar; it only depends on what kind of jailbreak of jailbreak tools you were using. In your case, you don’t need to restore your fourth gen-iPhone to iOS 4.2.7, you can jump right away to iOS 4.2.8. Unfortunately, you will not be able to jailbreak your iOS device using Greenpois0n due to the fact that Greenpois0n haven updated yet to support the new iOS firmware – as the Chronic Dev Team is focusing their attention in bigger project. Anyway, you can jailbreak your Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 using Sn0wbreeze 2.7.1
(for Windows) or with PwnageTool 18.104.22.168
(for Mac OS X) with PwnageTool bundle. Unlike jailbreaking using Greenpois0n, both PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze will create a custom iOS 4.3.3 IPSW which is pre-jailbroken. This pre-jailbroken iOS 4.3.3 IPSW file will be restored on your iPhone through iTunes. So if you are unsure about the steps, you can follow this tutorial to untethered jailbreak iOS 4.2.8 on CDMA iPhone 4 using PwnageTool (22.214.171.124) bundle
if you are on Mac or with Sn0wbreeze 2.7.1
if you are on Windows.
