Hi guys, obviously, I’m a newbie about jailbreaking and unlocking iPhone. I have an iPhone 4 and it is currently running on iOS 4.3.3 firmware. My contract to AT&T is about to end and I am planning to unlock this phone after my contract expiration. I already conducted a research about jailbreaking and unlocking but that’s too much information for me. I knew that I need to jailbreak my iPhone first then unlock it with Ultrasn0w, but my problem is the baseband of my iPhone. I have 4.10.01 baseband, where can I get an unlockable baseband? What jailbreak tool should I use to jailbreak my iPhone 4?

Regarding basebands, iPhone basebands are not downloadable and cannot be downgraded. Once you upgraded the firmware version of your device, your baseband will automatically get updated. This is why unlockers should use tools like Sn0wbreeze or PwnageTool to prevent it from happening. What if you downgrade your firmware version using SHSH Blobs? Your baseband will not be downgraded. The iPhone Dev Team have already announced that they are working for a tool that will be capable to downgrade the baseband version of an iPhone. But don’t expect this solution to become available anytime soon.
If you really want to unlock your iPhone 4, then you should use unlock it using Gevey SIM Pro.
