Fix iTunes Error 2003 When Downgrading iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.3.3

Hi guys, iTunes is throwing "iPhone could not be restored, an unknown error occurred (2003)" every time I am trying to connect my iPhone 3GS and downgrade it back to iOS 4.3.3 using TinyUmbrella. What does this mean? Will I be able to downgrade my iPhone or I am stuck at iOS 4.3.5? What should I do? Do I need to download a new TinyUmbrella? Thanks.

Hello Bruce, it is highly recommended to use the latest version of TinyUmbrella. But, iTunes Error 2003 has nothing to do with the version of TinyUmbrella installed on your computer. iTunes Error 2003 is probably a hardware issue, specifically has something to do with your connector where iTunes cant connect properly to your device. The best option in order to fix this error is by using a different USB connector, or by connecting your iPhone to other USB port. It is ideal to connect your iPhone to USB port 2.0 or 3.0 to ensure that you will get a better connection. Also, if you haven’t updated your iTunes yet, uninstall your iTunes and get the latest version from here.

Anyway, you can follow the tutorial posted here on how to downgrade iPhone firmware using TinyUmbrella. If you have encountered iTunes error 3194 then you can follow this guide on how to fix it. Once you have successfully downgraded your iPhone, if you want to jailbreak it then you can use JailbreakMe 3.0 or Redsn0w. The step by step guide on how to jailbreak an iPhone using JailbreakMe can be found on this blog post, while the guide on how to use Redsn0w 0.9.6RC16 is posted from here.
