How to Downgrade iPhone 4 Baseband From 03.10.01 to 01.59.00?

Hello everyone, can I possibly downgrade the baseband of my iPhone 4? I am currently using my iPhone on iOS 4.2.1 and it has baseband 3.10.01. I am thinking to downgrade 3.10.01 to 01.59.00 and get an unlock with Ultrasn0w? Thanks.

Hello Willie, unfortunately, there’s no way you can downgrade the baseband of the iPhone once it gets updated. Meaning, your iOS device will get stuck on that baseband till you update the firmware of your iPhone to the latest firmware using iTunes. Hopefully the iPhone Dev-Team will finally come up with a special tool that has capability to downgrade the baseband of iPhone in order to enable iPhone users to unlock their iPhone on any iOS version.

Anyway, you will still be able to unlock your iPhone from its contracted mobile phone carrier using Gevey SIM Pro. But first, I would recommend you to jailbreak your iPhone using Greenpois0n in order to unleash the full potential of your iPhone by downloading and installing some jailbreak apps and tweaks that are designed to boost the performance of your iPhone. You can download Greenpois0n RC6.1 from here, and then follow this guide on how to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 using Greenpois0n. Then once completely jailbroken, you can now unlock it with Gevey SIM Pro. The step-by-step guide on how to unlock iPhone using Gevey SIM Pro can be found on this blog post.
