Does Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 Works on Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2.10?

Hi, I am totally new to the iPhone jailbreaking scene. I just got my brand new iPhone 4 form Verizon and then updated it to iOS 4.2.10. Right now, I am thinking to jailbreak it, install Cydia, and obtain other jailbreak features. Anyway, can I use Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 to jailbreak my Verizon iPhone 4? Thanks.

Hello Matt, yes, the new Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 is capable of jailbreaking Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 running on iOS 4.2.8, iOS 4.2.9, and iOS 4.2.10 (iOS 4.3.3, iOS 4.3.4, and iOS 4.3.5 for GSM iPhone users) firmwares which is compatible for both Mac OS X and Windows users. However, since the iPhone Dev-Team is still at the early stage of Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 beta testing, the jailbreak tool is quite buggy. Most iPhone user, especially users who are jailbreaking their iOS device via Windows 7, Vista, and XP were experiencing some errors and crashes with Redsn0w 0.9.9b1, particularly when booting their device in a tethered jailbroken state.

Anyway, I would recommend you to use Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 to jailbreak your iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.10. You can download Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 from here if you are using a Mac or using this link if you are on Windows. Then you can refer on this tutorial on how to jailbreak iOS 4.2.10 on your Verizon iPhone 4. However, you should be noted that this version of Redsn0w offers tethered jailbreak only. Meaning, you have to connect your iPhone into your Mac or PC and use Redsn0w to power ON or reboot your iPhone in tethered jailbreak state once you restart or power OFF your device.
