Cydia Fails to Open After Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 Tethered Jailbreak

Hi guys, I used the new Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 to jailbreak my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.5, updated from iOS 4.1 firmware. I think the jailbreak went smoothly. After few minutes, I disconnected my iPhone and then tried to reboot it using Redsn0w. After rebooting, I fired up Cydia but the app don’t open and crashes. I tried to reboot but no results. What do I need to do now? Thanks.

Hello Scott, at the moment, the best thing to do is to STAY AWAY from Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 till the iPhone Dev-Team releases a new beta fix of the tool to address all the issues associated with the tool. The tool is quite buggy and unresponsive at the moment. Some of the users were also reporting that the “Just boot” option of the tool is not working as well.

Anyway, the only fix available at the moment is through restoring your iPhone to the stock iOS 4.3.5 firmware. But before you do that, make sure to backup your iPhone first using iTunes. If not, all our data will be deleted and there’s no way you can retrieve it.

To restore, just simply connect your iPhone to iTunes, then go to Summary tab, and hit the Restore button. Once completely restored on iOS 4.3.5, you can no rejailbreak it using the Redsn0w 0.9.8b7, which is available for both Mac OS X and Windows users. You can get the Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 using this link if you are on Windows or from here if you are using a Mac. Then just simply follow this guide on how to jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.5 using Redsn0w.
