Cydia Crashes and iPhone Reboots After iOS 5 Tethered Jailbreak

Hello people! I have attempted to jailbreak my iPhone 4 on iOS 5 firmware using numerous jailbreak tools, which includes Limera1n, Greenpois0n, Redsn0w, and Sn0wbreeze. But only Redsn0w and Sn0wbreeze managed to jailbreak my device on iOS 5 successfully. However, every time I try to launch Cydia it crashes and my iPhone automatically reboots. I have already used the "Just boot" Redsn0w option, but I always end-up with the same error when launching Cydia. What do I need to do? Thanks.

Frankie, have you installed any suspicious app or tweak from Cydia Store or any .DEB file on your jailbroken iPhone prior to this error? Anyway, restoring your iPhone 4 to the stock iOS 5 firmware and jailbreaking it will definitely fix the issue. To do that, all you have to do is download the stock iOS 5 firmware from here and restore your iOS device using iTunes 10.5 (Hold down the Option / Shift key, click on Restore and locate the downloaded iOS 5 .IPSW file). But before you restore, make sure you backup all your important data (Photos, videos, music, email, etc) to iTunes and restore them later after iOS 5 restore.

After restoring, you can now jailbreak your iPhone using the new Redsn0w 0.9.9b7. You can check this blog post to download and know more about Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 for Mac OS X and Windows. And then follow our detailed step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 5 using Redsn0w which can be found here. Once completely jailbroken, just simply reboot your device and tethered boot it using Redsn0w in order to fully activate the jailbreak. That’s it! Good luck...!
