After jailbreaking my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.1, I have decided to remove its jailbreak and restore it to clean iOS 4.3.3 due to numerous app crashes and unstable jailbreak, where I have to connect my iPhone into my Mac just to boot it, which is kind a lame. Anyway, I’m planning to jailbreak my iPhone again so that I can install MyWi. However, a friend told me that MyWi doesn’t work on his iPhone 4 running on the same firmware version. I am not really familiar about jailbreak apps and the entire jailbreaking scheme. Can I jailbreak my iPhone again and install MyWi or other free Internet app? Thanks.

Anyway, regarding Internet tethering, we are hearing some reports that MyWi does not work on iOS 4.3.3 and iOS 4.3.2 for some users. But alternatively, you can use PDANet to there your iPhone’s Internet connection on other Wi-Fi enabled devices for absolutely free. If you are unaware, PDANet is one of the most popular and best tethering apps for Windows and Android-based smartphones and just ported to iOS 4. What makes PDANet tethering app a lot better in comparison with other apps that offer the same features is that PDANet app has capability to mask the unauthorized Internet tethering so that AT&T (and possible Verizon) can’t detect that you were using your data plan into other devices for free. To turn your iPhone into a Wi-Fi Personal Hotspot, you will need to create an AD-HOC or Peer-to-Peer network on your computer and join that network on your iPhone 4. You can download and install PDANet app on your jailbroken iPhone 4 via Cydia by going to Manage –> Sources –> ModMyi, then scrolling down to PDANET. It can be downloaded for free for 14 days trial. After the trial period, PDANet is available for $15.99 for one-time payment.
