There have been many buzzes and rumors that Apple will be adding another carrier to their stable that will offer their very popular iPhone. This particular rumor has been further given weight when back in January, Apple and Verizon announced their partnership. The rumored telecommunications company that will be the next iPhone carrier is no other than Sprint, the third-largest U.S. wireless carrier.

Starting at $649, you can now buy a 16GB unlocked iPhone which means that you are free to use any carrier that you want as long as you have a sim card. ShareThanks to iH8sn0w and DjayB6, now you can jailbreak iOS 4.2.8 on Verizon iPhone 4 untethered using Redsn0w 0.9.6RC14. After jailbreaking your Verizon iPhone 4 through Redsn0w, you must install CDMA iPhone Untethered Patch for iOS 4.2.8 from DjayB6 repo. As i0n1c's untethered payload is not easily reversible, so iH8sn0w used untethered kernel exploit by Pod2g+P0sixninja which is still vulnerable to iOS 4.2.7 & iOS 4.2.8.

ShareNotCom has just updated TinyUmbrella which now support iOS 4.2.6 SHSH blobs for Verizon iPhone 4. TinyUmbrella v4.21.08 is available for both Windows and Mac OS X users and is capable to saving iOS 4.2.6 SHSH blobs for Verizon iPhone 4 as well as all other iOS iDevices. ShareChronic-Dev Team has released an updated version of GreenPois0n tool to jailbreak Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.6. For those who don't know, just like AT&T's iPhone 4, Verizon iPhone 4 is still vulnerable to the Geohot's Limera1n bootrom exploit. The GreenPois0n tool by Chronic-Dev Team uses the same bootrom exploit plus some kernel based hack to make the jailbreak untethered.
