Another rumor regarding Verizon and Motorola! BGR has reported that one of their sources got his hands on Verizon’s inventory system which showed / leaked two new Android devices Verizon Wireless might launch soon – Motorola Droid Pro and Motorola MZ600 Tablet.

As anticipated, Verizon has started rolling OTA (over-the-air) Android 2.2 (Froyo) updates for Motorola Droid. If you are a Verizon customer, you should receive a software update notification on your Motorola Droid notification bar. Update process is pretty straight forward, just ensure that your phone is connected to internet and wait for the update to complete.

Gizmodo rocked internet world when they got their hands on an iPhone 4G prototype, they released a set of iPhone 4G videos and pictures along with complete hardware specs. The doubts about iPhone 4G prototype vanished when Bruce Sewell (Apple’s Senior Vice President & General Counsel) sent a letter to Gizmodo / Gawker Media and claimed that the device in their possession belongs to Apple and it should be returned to Apple, so this pretty much rules out any ambiguities, Gizmodo actually has the real iPhone 4G prototype!

According to Engadget, iPhone 4G will be dubbed as iPhone HD and it will be releasing on 22nd June 2010. John Gruber on other hand says that iPhone HD will be featuring A4-processor, 960 x 640 display like iPad, a front camera and the ever demanding feature of Multitasking. iPhone 4G will have iPhone OS 4.0 and will be supporting video chat.

Some good news for WiMAX users/customers! Sprint as we know is offering 4G WiMAX services in US, their WiMAX network is named as XHOM, they are offering WiMAX services via CPEs(Customer Premises Equipments) and USB devices. There are no WiMAX/4G enabled handsets available for sprint customers now, the primary reason for this is lack of WiMAX handsets in market, there are hardly any WiMAX handsets available, one reasons for manufacturers not investing in WiMAX handsets could be the absence of mobility in WiMAX networks, most WiMAX networks around the globe are offering fixed/non-mobility services. Sprint, however do offer mobility to its customers, so it badly needs WiMAX handsets. Acc to a Forbes report, Sprint is going to launch its very first WiMAX phone in the first half of this year!

AT&T is currently the only mobile phone carrier that offers the iPhone. According to HotHardware, there are rumors that AT&T may be losing it’s iPhone exclusivity as early as Wednesday at Apple’s media event. However no one is sure about which US carrier or carriers are going to carry iPhone after AT&T.

Like Motorola Droid on Verizon, the US version of Nexus One lacks the multitouch capability. Even though the hardware of Nexus One and Android 2.1 OS fully support Nexus One, yet Google didn’t shipped Nexus One with multitouch capabilities in web-browser despite of the fact that Apple’s iPhone support both multitouch and apps since 2007. According to Engadget, a phone passed on to the German site Heise has all the multitouch goodness like pinch-to-zoom enabled in the web browser which means that European version of Nexus One which is due to launch on Vodafone this Spring will be supporting multitouch.

Earlier, we shared that Motorola Milestone ROM is about to be released for Motorola Droid. Alpha version of ROM has just been released and is available for downloaded on AllDroid, this ROM will bring full multitouch functionality in it like zoom and tap functionality in browser, pictures and Google Maps. For those who don’t know, Motorola Droid on Verizon US don’t support multitouch functionality in most of the applications, although the hardware is fully capable of supporting multitouch. The reason behind this would most probably be some iPhone patents in US, as the European version of Motorola Droid named as Motorola Milestone fully supports multitouch functionality, just like iPhone.
