Just after the release of iPhone 4, TiPb has published an awesome comparison chart between iPhone 4 and other famous smartphones available in the market including HTC EVO 4G, Droid Incredible and Google Nexus One. Previously TiPb published the similar kind of comparison chart between iPhone 4G and other smartphone, however this time they have updated it by replacing the unkown values with the known one after WWDC 2010.

Comparison by TiPb

Comparison by Engadget
Engadget also doubled the comparison of iPhone 4 with other devices including Nokia N8, Palm Pre Plus and HTC HD2. With so many smartphones available in the market, such comparison sheets are really helpful to those who are planning to buy a new smartphone.

Considering the above comparison, we can say that iPhone 4 is no doubt a tough competitor to HTC EVO 4G as far as hardware specs are concerned. Lolz @Apple who just tried to make the comparison even more tough by setting the price tag of iPhone 4 to U.S. $199 [16GB] which is exactly same to Sprint HTC EVO 4G. [via TiPb][via Engadget]

iPhone 4G (iPhone HD) is all around the web these days, we've gone over leaked iPhone 4G prototype and Apple claiming it back, now have a look at one-on-one comparison between iPhone 4G, EVO 4G, Nexus One and Droid Incredible. Although the idea behind comparing a prototype and unannounced/unfinished phone specs with other popular phones in marker seems bit ridiculous but considering the hype iPhone 4G has these days, the comparison is definitely worth viewing!

The specifications of unreleased phones including iPhone 4G and Evo 4G can't be 100% authentic, but we can say with certain indemnity that majority of these specs would hold true, particularly for Apple iPhone 4G after it's leaked prototype.

It has Qualcomm QSD 1 GHz processor which is pretty much capable of running Adobe Flash as stated by Antonio Flores of Adobe Systems. According to Flores only those smartphones will be fully capable of running Flash 10.1 who have ARM Cortex A8 chipsets. All other phones with less hardware capabilities will be able to run Flash Lite. As confirmed earlier, Flash 10.1 will be available in the first quarter of 2010. Here is a video made by Ryan Stewart, a platform evangelist for Adobe Systems who is demoing Flash 10.1 on his Nexus One.

In this video he is watching March Madness live on Google Nexus One over 3G connection. You can double-click on the Flash video to go into full screen mode. The video does seem to a stutter a bit but the overall Flash experience is rather smooth and quite in the flow as compared to the desktop experience.

As informed earlier, Google Nexus One and Motorola Droid will be the two lucky smartphones which will support Flash 10.1 and now its confirmed. Only devices with ARM Cortex A8 chipsets will be able to run final version of Flash 10.1. Devices with low hardware capabilities can view Flash content via Flash Lite. Taimur Asad of RedmondPie have already tested Alpha version of Flash Lite by playing the famous Facebook game Farmville on his Google Nexus One. So HTC Hero can also view Flash content on their devices with Flash Lite. Flash 10.1 will be available in the 1st Quarter of 2010 for all supported platforms.

According to Adobe:
Therefore the choice to target the ARM Cortex-A8 chipsets will result in greater efficiency, and most importantly a wider range of consistent experiences as uptake grows. To be clear, that uptake is already happening, and it will expand rapidly just like it does every other year.

According to Adobe:

Therefore the choice to target the ARM Cortex-A8 chipsets will result in greater efficiency, and most importantly a wider range of consistent experiences as uptake grows. To be clear, that uptake is already happening, and it will expand rapidly just like it does every other year.

It’s like a Moore’s Law of mobile phones

Yet some devices will not be able to support the full Flash Player 10.1 due to low hardware capabilities, and for many of those devices we have a new version of our optimized runtime, Flash Lite, to fill the gap.

Moreover, you can get adobe Flash 10.1 in three ways:

You can get Flash Player 10.1 which comes bundled with System Software Updates (Firmware/ROM Updates)

By manually downloading through on-device catalog.

Downloading and installing from the Adobe Flash site

Adobe further clarified:

At Mobile World Congress Adobe demonstrated the full Flash Player (Flash Player 10.1) running on Android, Palm webOS and other mobile platforms. The HTC Desire will support Flash Player 10.1 once the runtime is available in the first half of 2010. Users will be able to upgrade the free player over the air. Until then the HTC Desire will ship with a new version of Flash Lite that supports ActionScript 3, and other new features. The Farmville demo shown on Redmondpie is using Flash Lite, not the full Flash Player.

According to Antonio Flores of Adobe Systems only those Android phones will be capable of running Flash 10.1, who have ARMv7 (Cortex) processors in it as only these processors are powerful enough to process and run flash based video content on the mobile web. Out of 10 most widely used Android phones in US, only people who have Motorola Droid or Nexus One will be fortunate enough to view flash based video content on their phones. Flash 10.1 final version for Android will be released in the mid of year 2010.

Hi all,
You can expect the final release for Android to be available mid-year. All Android devices that meet our minimum s/w and h/w requirements will be supported. Unfortunately, I cannot say a lot more publicly about our port to the Android platform at this time.
As for WinMo, we have made the tough decision to defer support for that platform until WinMo7. This is due to the fact that WinMo6.5 does not support some of the critical APIs that we need.
As for your other questions:

Yes, we will support the Motorola Milestone.
No, the HTC Hero will not be supported b/c it does not have the correct Anroid OS version [...]

No, the HTC Hero will not be supported b/c it does not have the correct Anroid OS version and it’s chipset is not powerful enough. We require a device with an ARM v7 (Cortex) processor. Examples include the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets and TI OMAP3 series.

Acc. to the above scrap, only Motorola Droid and Nexus One will support Flash 10.1 as they have processors powerful enough to process flash content. The normal clock speed of Nexus One's Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is approx 1Ghz and after overclocking it can be increased 1.113 Ghz. Original clock speed of Motorola Droid is 600Mhz and after overclocking it can be increased 1.1Ghz. However the Qualcomm 528MHz CPU of HTC Hero is not powerful enough to run Flash 10.1 due to its low CPU power.

As we know, Google Nexus One has a trackball for navigation and it possess the ability to glow in different colors for showing different kind of notifications such as Missed calls, SMS, Warnings etc but this functionality doesn't come in Nexus One as a default, though both Android software and handsets are fully capable of it; but no worries! few Android geeks are working on bringing this functionality in Nexus One.

Along with Multicolored Trackball LED functionality, working on Customized Live Wallpaper has also been see, this functionality will allow users to change the colors from the default set color scheme. Have a look at following video demo showing both customized functions in Nexus One.

These mods are not yet available, but they will soon come in market. Please note that for adding these mods, if available, you will need an Unlocked Nexus One along with Root access.
