Dev-Team released their long awaited Spirit jailbreak tool (untethered) iPhone OS 3.1.3, iPhone OS 3.1.2 and iPad OS 3.2. Spirit tool works on all iDevices including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. While users were jailbreaking their iPhone and iPad with Spirit, they were encountering Error [c0000005] and Error Dl.exe. These bugs appeared on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, as a workaround, users on these OS had to switch off Windows 98 compatibility mode to get things workings. Recently Comex again tweeted an update that he is not going to release the Spirit jailbreak tool that early, moreover Comex deleted his previous tweet in which he claimed that he is going to release the tool on the upcoming Friday.

Earlier, we shared that famous iPhone hacker (GeoHot) is working on a new tool named as “limera1n” and the tool would supposedly jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3 untethered on all iDevices including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad or it will jailbreak the new iPhone OS 4.0. Well, it’s sad to write that limera1n tool yet another FAKE! GeoHot has posted couple of tweets saying that his personal data (name, address, email etc.) is public and can be used by anyone to register a domain name/website. Also, he mentioned that he is busy in some other stuff and after finishing it he will work on jailbreaking again.

The infamous iPhone hacker George Francis Hotz (geohot) has registered a new domain name limera1n.com. The who.is records of limra1n.com and blackra1n.com confirms that these domain names are owned by geohot. This new domain name was registered on March 27 and was last updated on April 13th, yes its the same day on which geohot successfully jailbroke iPhone OS 4.0 via blackra1n. However there is no official confirmation from geohot himself about the ownership of limra1n.com.

Thunderst0rm team has released the final version of the tool which promised to jailbreak and unlock iPhone OS 3.1.3 05:12:01 baseband. However the final version (download) of the released tool is nothing more than a simple .NET app. When the program was decompiled, it lacked any interaction with the iDevice connected via USB. As you can see from the screenshot below, it just contains only a few lines of code which merely displays MsgBox on a button click.
