The famous Spirit jailbreak tool by Comex has been updated to make it compatible with latest iTunes 9.2. Initially when Spirit was released, it was compatible with iTunes 9.1.1 and the released tool was available for Windows and Mac. Later P0sixninja, man behind the GreenPois0n tool, ported Spirit tool to Linux. For those who don’t know: Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for all iDevices running iPhone OS 3.1.3, iPhone OS 3.1.2 and iPad OS 3.2.

Dev-Team released their long awaited Spirit jailbreak tool (untethered) iPhone OS 3.1.3, iPhone OS 3.1.2 and iPad OS 3.2. Spirit tool works on all iDevices including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. While users were jailbreaking their iPhone and iPad with Spirit, they were encountering Error [c0000005] and Error Dl.exe. These bugs appeared on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, as a workaround, users on these OS had to switch off Windows 98 compatibility mode to get things workings. Comex has now issued an updated version of Spirit tool which corrects these minor issues.

Finally iPhone-Dev Team has released the most awaited Spirit tool to jailbreak all iDevices which are on iPhone OS 3.1.3, iPhone OS 3.1.2 and iPad OS 3.2. Spirit is available for download at the official SpiritJB website for Windows and Mac OS X. Spirit is an untethered Jailbreak for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. According to Spirit team, it will not unlock your device but its a simple one-click app which will jalbreak your iDevice easily.

According to the latest blog post by P0sixninja who happens to be a member of Chronic Dev Team, he will be releasing an exploit for iPhone OS 3.1.3 and iPhone OS 3.1.2 which will Jailbreak all iDevices by the end of April. As far as unlock for these iDevices is concerned, you have to wait until Next Generation iPhone 4G is released. He further added that many people think that Greenpois0n is an exploit, infact its not an exploit but toolkit which helps the hackers to discover and exploit new vulnerabilities.

Previously we shared a way to downgrade your iPhone OS 4.0 to iPhone OS 3.1.3 but this guide is to downgrade your iPhone OS 4.0 to iPhone OS 3.1.2 or lower. The only difference is that while reverting back from OS 4.0 to 3.1.3, we used the recovery mode of iPhone to simply restore our previous firmware. However inorder to downgrade your from OS 4.0 to OS 3.1.2 or below, you must use the DFU mode. The following guide will help you to downgrade your iPhone OS 4.0 to OS 3.1.2 or lower but your baseband (05.13.03) will remain unaffected.

This Blacksn0w RC2 is a combination of recent fix released by MSFT Guy (He patched Blacksn0w to work with firmware 3.1.3) and original unlock released by George Hotz, which itself was released as an added utility in latest blackra1n RC3 tool to unlock 05.11.07 baseband iPhone 3G and 3GS running on 3.1.x firmware. This final version of Blacksn0w RC2 comes up with a fix for WiFi loss and boot loops issue.

According to an email received by 9to5Mac user, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc. is still using old iPhone OS 3.1.2 instead of latest iPhone OS 3.1.3 whose Jailbreak with Baseband 05.12.01 is yet to be found! May be Steve don’t want to loose multitasking (Multiflow) on his Jailbroken iPhone
