According to the leaked screenshots the next jailbreak tool by Comex will be called Sedna.

According to recent tweets by Comex, man behind the famous Spirit tool, the next version of Spirit will jailbreak iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.0.1 on all iDevices. GeoHot is in the spotlight again! The jailbreak genius has posted a new post on his blog showing a jailbreaked iPhone 4 running Cydia. He already showed us the ground work he has done for jailbreaking iOS 4. GeoHot in his recent article also confirmed that limera1n and pwned4life are not his tools/softwares, these are just some arbitrary names given by bloggers to his efforts.

Remember when Planetbeing claimed that he is the first one to root iPhone 4 with Comex's Spirit jailbreak code? Later MuscleNerd tweeted the high-resolution screenshot of Cydia running on iPhone 4 confirming that Comex's Spirit code can jailbreak (untethered) iOS 4 on iPhone 4. AntiSpirit is new tool created by an Italian user Saro Newland which provides you with a step-by-step guide to jailbreak iOS 4.0 on those iPhones and iPod Touches who are already jailbroken with Comex Spirit tool. Other tools including Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 ,PwnageTool 4.01 and Sn0wbreeze 1.6.1 support iOS 4 jailbreak on those iDevices which are not already jailbroken with Spirit tool.

iH8sn0w has just released the new version of Sn0wbreeze (v1.6.2) which fixes YouTube and iBooks issues which were being experienced by many users after iOS 4 jailbreak. Not only this but Sn0wbreeze 1.6.2 also supports iOS 4 jailbreak on those iDevices which were previously jailbroken by the Comex's Spirit tool. Sn0wbreeze v1.6.2 can jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3G, 3GS (old bootrom) and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC model).

Yeah! Spirit jailbreak for iOS 4 on iPhone 4 is coming soon. Planetbeing is reporting that he is the first one who rooted iPhone 4 using Comex 's Spirit jailbreak code. Comex might have tested his code on iPhone 4 himself but unfortunately he don't have an iPhone 4 yet.

The famous Spirit jailbreak tool by Comex has been updated to make it compatible with latest iTunes 9.2. Initially when Spirit was released, it was compatible with iTunes 9.1.1 and the released tool was available for Windows and Mac. Later P0sixninja, man behind the GreenPois0n tool, ported Spirit tool to Linux. For those who don't know: Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for all iDevices running iPhone OS 3.1.3, iPhone OS 3.1.2 and iPad OS 3.2.

Couple of days ago P0sixninja, man behind the GreenPois0n tool, released a set of source files for Spirit tool which could help you to jailbreak your iDevice on Linux via terminal. You can still download the binaries from here if you are good at using Linux terminal. For all those who have no experience of using Linux terminal, now there is a GUI version of Spirit tool available for download.
