Now iPhone Dev Team has released its newer version for Windows and Mac Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3 which enables you to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G on iOS 4.0 final version.

Dev-Team has released updated version of Redsn0w 0.9.5 for MAC, named "Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-2", previous version was redsn0w 0.9.5b5-1. This version is also for jailbreaking iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G on iOS 4. New version brings a new feature of enabling battery percentage, in addition to multitasking and home screen wallpapers.

Few days ago, Redsn0w 0.9.5b5 was released by iPhone Dev Team for Mac OS X only to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod Touch running iOS 4 GM. Now Redsn0w 0.9.5 beta 5 for Windows has been officially released by iPhone Dev Team and by using it you can easily jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G on Windows.

Dev-Team has released updated version of Redsn0w for iOS 4.0 GM build, latest version is named as "0.9.5b5-1" and it brings support to jailbreak and enable multitasking and wallpapers on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, running on iOS 4. Apple disallowed these functionalities on both these devices, reason being the performance issues. Please read the notes carefully before using this version of redsn0w.

Apple renamed iPhone 4G to iPhone 4 and iPhone OS 4.0 to iOS 4.0 at WWDC 2010. However as confirmed by iPhone-Dev-Team, the latest version of Redsn0w which previously jailbreaked iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 on iPhone 3G is fully capable of jailbreaking the latest iOS 4.0 GM (Gold Master) release. iPhone-Dev-Team has just released the new version of Redsn0w(v 0.9.5b4) which will jailbreak the latest iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4. Last week Apple released iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4 fixing the loophole in beta 2 & 3 which allowed the hackers to jailbreak them via Redsn0w 0.9.5b1 and Redsn0w 0.9.5b2 respectively. Redsn0w 0.9.5b4 will jailbreak only iPhone 3G running iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4.

Finally Dev-Team has released the Beta version of redsn0w 0.9.5 to jailbreak latest iPhone 4.0 OS, earlier they showed a video right after release of firmware 4.0 claiming iPhone 4.0 jailbreak. The Beta release is meant for 4.0 developers only, you will still need a registered UDID with Apple to get past the activated process. This version is for MAC only.

For all those who are interested to update their iPhone firmware to 3.1, they are requested to wait until Dave-Team releases a Redsn0w and Ultrasn0w which can actually unlock firmware 3.1. If you will upgrade to firmware 3.1 now then you will lose your Ultrasnow unlock forever. You wont be able to recover your baseband firmware. Up-till now feel free to unlock iPhone OS 3.0.1 Firmware which is compatible with Redsnow.
