PwnageTool - The Jailbreak Solution For Mac Users

PwnageTool is an iPhone jailbreak for Mac users. It creates custom iOS firmware images as per user-defined specifications. These firmware images often contain the APT interface Cydia as well as other package. PwnageTool was first launched on the 3rd of April 2008 for the iPhone 2G and the iPod Touch 1G. As Apple released new iOS firmware the PwnageTool was updated so that iPhone users could still keep their jailbreak. PwnageTool can be used to jailbreak iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch and Apple TV.

The latest version of PwnageTool released on the 27th of December 2011is for iOS 5.0.1 and this allows users to jailbreak iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G and 4G and the iPad. Cydia in this release has also been updated to version 1.1.3 but there is as yet no support for jailbreaking Apple A5 devices.

The PwnageTool is only available for Mac users but iH8sn0w has brought its functionality to Windows with his jailbreak tool called Sn0wbreeze.
