Pod2g began working with additional hackers and developers to work on an A5 exploit that would allow iPhone 4S users to jailbreak their iPhones and the iPad 2 untethered. This work with the Chronic Dev Team along with Saurik has paid off and on the 20th of January 2012 a new jailbreak from Greenpois0n called Absinthe was released that provides an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Although the rest of the jailbreak community have been enjoying the A4 iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak since last year, iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users are still yet to experience the iOS 5.0.1 untethered goodness.
