Chronic Dev-Team has recently released the GreenPois0n tool which now incorporates the bootrom hole used in Limera1n instead of SHAtter exploit. There is not much difference between the Limera1n and GreenPois0n as both uses the same exploit to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS (Old+New Bootrom). Below is a step-by-step guide to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS with GreenPois0n tool.

Msft.guy has released PwnageTool bundle to jailbreak iOS 4.2 Beta 2 on iPhone 3GS (Old bootrom). You can use this bundle to patch the existing PwnageTool through which you can create custom IPSW of iOS 4.2 Beta 2 which on restore through iTunes will jailbreak and hactivate your iPhone 3GS (Old bootrom).

The much awaited tool Sn0wbreeze 2.0 has been released by iH8sn0w to jailbreak iOS 3.1.x, 4.0.x and 4.1 on iPhone 2G, 3G & 3GS (Old or New bootrom) and iPod Touch 1G, 2G (MC or Non-MC) & 3G. For those who don't know, Sn0wbreeze is a PwnageTool port on Windows which cook custom IPSW files just like PwnageTool do on Mac.

iH8sn0w has just released his much awaited tool Sn0wbreeze 2.0 for Windows through which you can jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.x and iOS 4.0.x & 4.1 on iPhone 2G, 3G & 3GS (old or new bootrom) and iPod Touch 1G, 2G & 3G by creating a custom IPSW file which upon restore through iTunes jailbreaks your device.

Yesterday Apple released the first beta of iOS 4.2 whose final build will be out in November this year. Without any further wait, msft.guy has already released PwnageTool bundle to jailbreak iOS 4.2 Beta on iPhone 3GS (Old bootrom). This PwnageTool bundle will patch the current PwnageTool so that it can cook custom IPSW of iOS 4.2 Beta which on restore through iTunes will jailbreak and hactivate your device.

Apple has recently released iOS 4.1. As anticipated, updating to iOS 4.1 also updates the baseband of your device to 2.10.4. However, if you update your jailbroken device to iOS 4.1 while preserving its baseband then you can easily unlock it with Ultrasn0w. If you jailbreak your iPhone 3GS(old Bootrom) with PwnageTool, it won't update the baseband and you can unlock it using Ultrasn0w 1.1-1.

You can now jailbreak iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) on iOS 4.1 with PwnageTool (Unofficial).
