Finally! As promised, iPhone Dev-Team has released Ultrasn0w (v1.2) tool to unlock iOS 4.1/4.2.1 on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. Ultrasn0w 1.2 can unlock 01.59.00 baseband on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS/3G basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00.

Updated version of Redsn0w for iOS 4.1 final built has been released by Dev Team. Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 can jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G on iOS 4.1. Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 is for MAX OS X users only. Windows version is currently under testing, it will take some time before Windows version is available.

Msft.guy has released PwnageTool bundle to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G with the lastest version of PwnageTool. Unlike Redsn0w 0.9.6, it'll be a hactivated and untethered jailbreak. Jailbreaking your iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 with Redsn0w 0.9.6 will upgrade your baseband to 05.14.02 which is yet to be unlocked with Ultrasn0w.
