Sprint has recently released an ad showing iPhone using Sprint’s 4G/WiMAX network via its Overdrive 3G/4G Hotspot mobile router. Basically sprint has introduced a mobile 4G Hotspot in the form of a mini router which serves any Wi-Fi enabled device in its coverage like iPhone/iPad. For those who don’t know, iPhone currently don’t operate on 4G networks including WiMAX and LTE, but it does have Wi-Fi, so Sprint’s Overdrive service is acting as a bridge to connect iPhone and 4G.

Apple iPad is an OS X Mobile based tablet where as HP Slate is a Windows 7 powered tablet from HP. HP Slate is yet to be released sometime this year with a support for Adobe Flash and Air. Three dominating features of HP Slate over iPad are its support for multitasking, Flash and camera. Apple’s iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad don’t offer support for multitasking and Flash. If you want to enjoy multitasking on iPad, you have to first Jailbreak iPad OS 3.2. Uman Donkey, a graphic designer from UK, have created a concept design for a tablet powered by Windows Phone OS 7.0. The tablet have 8 inch capacitive touch screen with 2 web cams for 3D video calling. An inbuilt stand with an integrated keyboard makes it the design more appealing! We have also shared similar kind of concept design for Chrome OS Tablet, a tablet from Google which will be powered by equipped with Chrome OS most probably.

First it was Apple with iPad, then HP with HP Slate and now Dell have jumped into the race of tablets with its Dell Mini 5 inch tablet. Dell Mini 5 is also known as STREAK and it will be the first Android based tablet that will be soon available in the market. Though small in size (between an iPod and iPad), yet it offers two main features that Apple’s iPad lacks i-e multitasking support and a 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus and flash. This Android powered Dell Streak will be released in March / April 2010 with expected price of approx US $1000.

According to FoneHome, Namco have confirmed that they will be releasing Tekken, probably a scaled down version of Tekken 6 for iPhone in March 2010. Tekken is one of the earliest and most famous 3D arcade fighting games released in 1994. Namco have not specified that either they will be releasing classic version of Tekken or scaled down version of Tekken 6 but what they do have confirmed is that the game is in the final stages of its development. Capcom have released its much anticipated game Street Fighter IV at a Capcom Fight Club event.

Unlike Chrome OS Tablet by Google, HP Slate will be running Windows 7 and unlike iPad, famous tablet by Apple, HP Slate will be capable of running Flash based videos and games. Not only Flash, HP Slate will be fully capable of running Adobe AIR apps as well.

To help and facilitate those who suffered in Chile’s recent earthquake Google has launched a ‘Person Finder’ application, this app will connect those looking for missing people in Chile and those who have information.
Using Person Finder is pretty simple, it has a very simple and self explanatory UI, it gives two options “I’m looking for someone” and “I have information about someone”. One can either search for missing people in database and enter a new info, current stats of application say that there are around 8300 records in database.

Twitter is under a scam attack again, this time it’s a fishing attack and is rapidly spreading, scam attempts to obtain Twitter logins via Direct Messages. If you receive a direct message stating “lol, is this you” or any anonymous message, with link to a site named “bzpharma”, please don’t click the link, as doing so will be compromising your login details.

Some good news for WiMAX users/customers! Sprint as we know is offering 4G WiMAX services in US, their WiMAX network is named as XHOM, they are offering WiMAX services via CPEs(Customer Premises Equipments) and USB devices. There are no WiMAX/4G enabled handsets available for sprint customers now, the primary reason for this is lack of WiMAX handsets in market, there are hardly any WiMAX handsets available, one reasons for manufacturers not investing in WiMAX handsets could be the absence of mobility in WiMAX networks, most WiMAX networks around the globe are offering fixed/non-mobility services. Sprint, however do offer mobility to its customers, so it badly needs WiMAX handsets. Acc to a Forbes report, Sprint is going to launch its very first WiMAX phone in the first half of this year!
