Opera has announced Opera Mini 5 for all Android based cell phones like Motorola Droid, Nexus One etc. Opera Mini is an award winning mobile web-browser well known for its lightening speed and new features. Main features of this released include Tabbed Browsing, Speed Dial, Download Manager, Password Manager and many more. Apple has sued the Taiwan based phone giant HTC accusing its rival of violating patents related to the popular iPhone. Apple said that the rival smartphone maker has infringed on 20 patents covering aspects of the iPhone interface, user interaction and hardware. In a statement Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that his company will not all its competitors to steal patents of its inventions.

Some good news for WiMAX users/customers! Sprint as we know is offering 4G WiMAX services in US, their WiMAX network is named as XHOM, they are offering WiMAX services via CPEs(Customer Premises Equipments) and USB devices. There are no WiMAX/4G enabled handsets available for sprint customers now, the primary reason for this is lack of WiMAX handsets in market, there are hardly any WiMAX handsets available, one reasons for manufacturers not investing in WiMAX handsets could be the absence of mobility in WiMAX networks, most WiMAX networks around the globe are offering fixed/non-mobility services. Sprint, however do offer mobility to its customers, so it badly needs WiMAX handsets. Acc to a Forbes report, Sprint is going to launch its very first WiMAX phone in the first half of this year!

Google’s first branded phone named as Nexus One has just been released, and the talks about next version of Google phone are already in the air. People at Mobile01 managed to get their hands on few photos of Motorola Shadow, which acc to them would be next version of Nexus One/Google Android phone. Nexus Two, as they are calling it will have a sliding QWERTY keyboard with multitouch screen.

Motorola just unveiled their smart phone called “Droid”, it’s the first mobile phone using new “Google Android 2.0″ Operating System. HTC is not back in battle either, as they are about to unleash their first Multitouch Windows Phone “HD2″, it will be operational on new and improved Windows Mobile 6.5.
