Opera has announced Opera Mini 5 for all Android based cell phones like Motorola Droid, Nexus One etc. Opera Mini is an award winning mobile web-browser well known for its lightening speed and new features. Main features of this released include Tabbed Browsing, Speed Dial, Download Manager, Password Manager and many more. You may download it either by visiting m.opera.com/next from your mobile browser or simply download it to your PC and then transfer it to your cell phone.

As informed earlier, Google Nexus One and Motorola Droid will be the two lucky smartphones which will support Flash 10.1 and now its confirmed. Only devices with ARM Cortex A8 chipsets will be able to run final version of Flash 10.1. Devices with low hardware capabilities can view Flash content via Flash Lite. Taimur Asad of RedmondPie have already tested Alpha version of Flash Lite by playing the famous Facebook game Farmville on his Google Nexus One. So HTC Hero can also view Flash content on their devices with Flash Lite. Flash 10.1 will be available in the 1st Quarter of 2010 for all supported platforms.

According to Antonio Flores of Adobe Systems only those Android phones will be capable of running Flash 10.1, who have ARMv7 (Cortex) processors in it as only these processors are powerful enough to process and run flash based video content on the mobile web. Out of 10 most widely used Android phones in US, only people who have Motorola Droid or Nexus One will be fortunate enough to view flash based video content on their phones. Flash 10.1 final version for Android will be released in the mid of year 2010.

As we know, Google Nexus One has a trackball for navigation and it possess the ability to glow in different colors for showing different kind of notifications such as Missed calls, SMS, Warnings etc but this functionality doesn’t come in Nexus One as a default, though both Android software and handsets are fully capable of it; but no worries! few Android geeks are working on bringing this functionality in Nexus One.

Google Nexus one became the fastest clocked smartphone available in the market after being overclocked to 5Ghz & 9Ghz. Android Hackers (Kmobs) managed to overclock the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip of Nexus One upto 9Ghz who’s normal clock speed is 1Ghz. Nexus One was overclocked to 1.113Ghz couple of days ago. On the other hand Motorola Droid is far behind in competition as it was overclocked to max 1.3Ghz only.

Mozilla has recently released a portable version of Firefox for Windows based mobile phones, next on the track is their mobile project named Fennec, this this project Mozilla will release customized Firefox Browser for Android phones. Google has recently released a software update for Nexus One, update included essential ‘Multitouch’ functionality for Nexus One, along with other speed/performance enhancements updates. Few bugs reported in earlier release are also taken care of in latest update. Initially Google released OTA (over-the-air) upgrade for all users, which means that users can update the software online and you don’t need to connect your device to computer, all you need is an internet connection on your Nexus One from your service provider, later Google also provided software update for download as well, so now both option are available. Multitouch capability/functionality in touch phones is really a question these days, due to some patents, multitouch functionality is not allowed in US on all phones, like Motorola Droid US version on Verizon didn’t come with multitouch. Same goes for Google’s Nexus One, it didn’t come with a multitouch capable web browser etc even though the hardware(HTC) and Android 2.1 OS is fully capable of multitouch functionality. This is a major disadvantage as iPhone has multitouch functionality on US carriers; but no worries! People at XDA-Developers have released a Nexus One add-on, which enables full multitouch functionality on Nexus One’s web browser like pinch-to-zoom etc.
