It’s safe to say that one of the most useful additions to any iOS device is the Flashlight. I myself use it on a regular basis. I can still recall the time when iPhones don’t have this particular function and you need to jailbreak in order to gain access to a fully-functional flashlight or torch app. In case you don’t know, the Flashlight option can be access by swiping up on your iPhone screen and invoking the Control Center. Today, we’ll teach you how to turn your iPhone into an instant flashlight.

While on your Home screen or lock screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center. You should see the Flashlight button on the lower left portion of the Control Center. Tap the button to turn on the flashlight. That’s it!

How to Quickly Turn Off iPhone Flashlight?

If you’re not on the lock screen

To instantly turn off the iPhone flashlight, again, you will simply need to summon the Control Center. At this point, you can tap the Flashlight button or you can tap the Camera icon. Why the Camera? Tapping the Camera icon bring open the associated app which also uses the iPhone’s built-in flash. However, there is no point to using the Camera icon since the Flashlight icon is just right there. If you’re on the lock screen

In your lockscreen, you should see the Camera shortcut located in the lower-right corner of the screen. On iOS 9, the trick is to swipe the Camera icon upwards but not all the way because while it’s going to disable the Flashlight, it will also open the Camera app and you don’t want that. Instead, swipe only halfway upwards and it should turn off the flashlight without opening the Camera app.
